Residential Counsellors
- The position involves
evening and weekend work.
Residential Cousellors
Support and supervise
client activities in Aventa’s 36 bed Women’s
Residential Treatment Facility. Aventa’s
Residential treatment facility runs for 24
hours and staff are required to cover day,
evening and weekends.
Responsibilities
- Monitoring /
supervising client activities
- Accounting for all
clients at strategic times such as
curfew, bed checks, fire drills, and
meal hours;
- Implementing a
consistent structure of daily activities
including chores and mediation time,
house meetings and bed times;.
- Communicating with
other members of the treatment team for
effecting service, and risk management;
- Facilitate group;
- Support
assessment, intake and orientation into
the facility;
- Organize and
participate in recreational and leisure
activities;
- Provide support to
and interact positively with clients;
- Intervene in
client interactions to deescalate
conflict and promote relations;
- Intervene
strategically with clients in a manner
that supports individual assessments and
case plans;
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree
in a related human services field;
- Experience working
in a residential setting;
- Addictions
knowledge is an asset;
- Experience working
in a helping profession;
- Basic computer
knowledge;
- Clear Criminal
Record check and Child Welfare check and
well as Federal Clearance is required
upon hiring;
- Standard first
Aid, CPR and Suicide Intervention
Training;
- Personal
suitability;
Start Date: ASAP
Pay $22.00
per hour
